About Rebecca West.
Pluralistic Counsellor & Hypnotherapist based in South Wales.
I believe counselling works best when it feels like a genuine conversation, where you can bring whatever is on your mind and know it will be met with care and curiosity. My approach is pluralistic, which means I can draw on a range of therapeutic methods including person-centred therapy, psychodynamic, somatic approaches, and CBT techniques to find what feels most useful for you.
Counselling can be a space to explore challenges such as anxiety, low mood, or self-doubt, but also to connect more deeply with yourself and the changes you want to make. My role is to provide a supportive and professional environment where you can reflect, grow, and move at your own pace.
Alongside counselling, I also offer hypnotherapy, which can be especially supportive for things like anxiety, confidence, or accessing deeper inner resources in a focused, relaxed way. If you’re unsure about where to begin, that’s completely okay, you don’t need to have it all figured out. We can take things one step at a time, together.
Why I founded The Listening Space.
I founded The Listening Space because of my vision and belief that everyone deserves a calm and supportive environment where they can talk freely and feel genuinely heard. For many people, life can at times feel overwhelming, uncertain, or stuck, and The Listening Space offers a safe place to pause, reflect, and explore what’s happening.
Clients may come to counselling for a variety of reasons anxiety, low mood, loss, relationship difficulties, or simply a sense that something isn’t right. Whatever brings you here, our work together will focus on what feels most important to you.
My counselling approach is rooted in person-centred therapy values. I listen without judgement, respect your pace, and place your needs at the centre of the process.
I also take a pluralistic approach, meaning that where helpful, I can draw on a range of methods, including CBT techniques, to support your goals.
The Listening Space is grounded in clear professional boundaries and confidentiality. My aim is to provide a reliable and ethical counselling service where you feel supported, understood, and able to focus on the changes that matter most to you.
